Public Works Labourer - Seasonal_Job Description_Public Works_2019-04-17 Position Title: Labourer Department: Engineering & Public Works Reports to: Engineering Technologist Status: Seasonal Employment Classification: Temporary Fulltime Wage: Labourer Salary Band - $25,136 to $37,116 annually depending on experience. Location: Various locations in Municipality of the District of Chester Employment Period: May 2019 – November 2019 Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Updated: April 2019 SCOPE To successfully carry out the Municipality’s summer maintenance program for our public properties located throughout the Municipality of Chester and assist the Property Maintenance Supervisor in the daily operations of all our Municipal properties maintenance. Strong technical skills, GIS and GPS experience would be considered an asset. SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a general outline only of the duties and responsibilities involved in this position. It is also not intended to limit the employer’s right to assign other duties. The employee will be expected to work unsupervised for periods of time. Duties:  Landscape work/mowing  General building/ground maintenance (i.e. painting and handiwork), etc.  Assist in operations at the Solid Waste Facility as assigned (i.e. litter pick-up, lawn mowing, general maintenance).  Assist with data collection.  Assist in manhole repairs.
